Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tate fundraising ("we", "us") uses personal information collected through this website and through telephone contact. Tate fundraising is a sole trader activity. It is not a limited company.

Who is responsible

Tate fundraising is the data controller for personal information described in this policy. You can contact us by telephone on 07831 489723.

Information we collect

If you telephone us, we receive the information you choose to send. That typically includes:

  • your telephone number
  • the content of your call
  • the date and time of the contact

If you donate through the GoFundMe page linked from this website, GoFundMe collects and processes the information needed to take that donation. That processing is covered by GoFundMe's own privacy policy, not this one.

Our web host may keep standard server logs, which can include IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time of the request. Those logs are used to run and secure the website.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The site may use only what the browser needs to load pages. If that changes, this policy will be updated.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • answer enquiries about the fundraising
  • point people to the GoFundMe page for a one-off or monthly donation
  • operate and protect this website

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for automated decision-making.

Lawful basis

UK GDPR requires a lawful basis for processing. Depending on the situation, we rely on:

  • Legitimate interests - to reply to people who contact us, to run a small fundraising activity, and to keep the website secure
  • Legal obligation - if we must keep records for tax or other UK law

Who we share information with

We share information only where needed:

  • our website host, so the site can run
  • the telephone network you already use, because a call travels through that network
  • GoFundMe, if you choose to donate on their page
  • professional advisers (for example an accountant) if records of contributions must be reviewed
  • the police or a regulator if the law requires it

Some of those providers may store data on servers in the UK, the EEA, or other countries. Where a transfer outside the UK takes place, we expect an appropriate safeguard such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or a UK adequacy regulation.

How long we keep information

Enquiry records are kept only as long as needed to deal with them, and then a short period in case you get back in touch (usually up to 12 months). Records of contributions may be kept for up to six years to meet ordinary UK accounting needs. Server logs are kept according to the host's normal rotation, typically a matter of weeks or a few months.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you
  • have inaccurate information corrected
  • have information erased in certain cases
  • restrict or object to certain processing
  • receive information you provided in a portable form

To use these rights, telephone 07831 489723. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Children

This website is aimed at adults who wish to support or enquire about the fundraising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the site.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date.
